Just recently have had my last straw drawn at my current bank and am currently looking for new options.
Anyone have some suggestions of banks that haven't given them copious amounts of trouble or surprise/hidden fees? Also a majorrrrrr bonus if they can print same day debit cards. I'm tired of waiting 2 weeks for a new debit card in the mail and having all of my automatic payments backup/go inactive.
Your bank should allow you to decline overdraft protection, if that is an issue.
I’ve been happy with Great Southern. Plenty of locations, convenient hours and they can print cards.
Go to a credit union. Banks suck. My girlfriend has METRO CU and they seem pretty good.
Regions cuts same day debit cards
Metro has 1 location and it is downtown. My mom has banked there for years, I jumped ship after saving up for my first car. It has never been convenient.
They actually have a location right by the Alamo on Campbell now. It's quite nice. I'm from STL so my CU is in STL and it's the only ATM I can use without a fee on top of that.
I second Great Southern. My wife and I have been there for probably 15 years or more. The hours and locations were the big selling point in the beginning. Just wish they would get a location in Bolivar.
I wonder how long that had been there, that almost sounds familiar. I don't frequent the south side of town much.
I've used Commerce for over a decade. Any time I've had an issue, I've visited the branch on Battlefield & Fremont and they've fixed it without additional drama. I also had a new debit card printed there a week ago, which took 5 minutes.
It's very new looking so I doubt it's been there very long. Nice to not have to go downtown though lol
My grandpa has been with metro for over 40 years so has my entire family, they are excellent, twice I've been able to get a loan same day without even going into the bank, one for $5000 and one for $10000. I'd recommend them to anyone looking for a change in banking.
Damn glad to hear that. They've absolutely been helpful from what I've seen. Always had better experience with a credit union than a bank.

Blu Current is amazing. Great app, participates in co-op ATM AND Branch network and they pay a pretty good interest rate on checking as long as there’s 12 monthly debit card purchases.
I use TELCOMM CU and MidMo, both can print a credit/debit same day. I only use MidMo to get the 4% back when I swipe, but both have been good for me.
Agreed. Commerce (I use the same location) has always taken care of me. For personal accounts, same day debit cards are available.
I really like BluCurrent. They give me $5/ month and there are no atm fees for any credit union atm machine.

I've been with Commerce for 30 years, and not had any problems. Their loan department has been helpful with questions or whatnot and generally quick when I need things like pre-approval letters.
The one by the Alamo and Chase has been there forever I'm guessing 10+ years I used to use it.
State Bank of Southwest Missouri. They are great to work with and print same day cards.
Oakstar Bank. Excellent service, very helpful.
Telcomm has a rewards program now for both credit and debit cards
Arvest does as well.
I have an account with Arvest and I have an account with SoFi .
Arvest gave me really good interest rates on my loans so I keep an account with them to maintain that, But I have honestly enjoyed SoFi banking more as the app has more tools to manage things.
I guess it depends on what your looking for.
Another vote for Commerce. I've used them since I moved here in 2012 without any issues. I recently had to deal with a fraudulent use of my card. Their customer service was excellent and I got my new card printed at the bank the next day.

Our U.S. Bank Experience:
*The customer service is a HUGE plus for us. Every time we had to call, they were super friendly, fast acting, and helpful.
*They waived all of our "maintenance fees"
*They are PHENOMENAL at fraud alerts. If they detect any type of fraud, they will temporarily lock your card so no one can use it. It saved us big time when a thief attempted to steal money from our card.
*They never gave us any type of hassle and always got things done same day.
*No hidden fees, but don't overdraft your account.
*The app is very easy to navigate .
*They use recyclable cards for eco-friendly practices.
*There are a lot of branch locations in Springfield for easy access.
*I don't think they print debit cards the same day, though. They do have instant temporary ones you can get. Every time we have needed a new one, we just order it through the app, and it comes within a week or so.
We have had them for a little over five years now and love them!
