Please tell me this is satire and that you're not completely missing that it's Dec 19, 2024 abbreviated.

I love that Price Cutter. Between it and Mama Jean’s right down the road it’s pretty much the only place I shop at. Well besides Natural Grocers occasionally

Yeah I enjoy it too, I've never had any problems there but after some of the posts I've seen I will be keeping an eye on dates. I usually buy something if the date has passed and it is still good. I know others who can't bring themselves to eat something if the numbers are wrong

the format here is 12/19/2024

Great, that's super awesome that people believe plastic water bottles existed over 100 years ago, considering the date it was bottled on is listed just above this date. Why on earth would I have any concerns over my community members voting to elect leaders who ultimately decide my right to access reproductive care? No worries here. /s

But what if the logic to come up with "the numbers" is wrong? You're directly contributing to massive amounts of excessive and unnecessary waste. Please reach out to your local library for resources on anything and everything, including date formatting.

Rough-Dust-3926 OP t1_j89cwkn wrote

I think you may be confused. I am buying and eating the "expired" products because others can't bring themselves to do it. I'm begging you, please oh overlord of Springfield, educate me on how proactively reducing waste is actually increasing it!

Magnolia_Me t1_j89d2xb wrote

When you're ready we can talk about plastic packaging, particularly water bottles. Oh wait. I don't have the time or energy, nor is it my job to explain this to you. I encourage you to leverage a library. Put your hard-earned tax dollars to work.

Magnolia_Me t1_j89deok wrote

le sigh here we go.

When you perpetuate misinformation to protect your friends that won't eat expired foods, you're literally encouraging them to throw away food within the dates. Best of luck in your new perspective.

Edit: spell correct "good" to "food"

I didn’t think the /s was necessary along with the ‘duh’, but thanks for downvoting. Good luck with your sweet baby Jesus saving you from we savages. Let me know how that works out for you

Magnolia_Me t1_j89fy1w wrote

The sarcasm was necessary for me because I'm literally watching people refuse to accept information directly in front of them. I have the last 10 years of my existence given to overcoming misinformation and stigma. I use humor to cope. I never called anyone a savage, now. I just want people to use the resources available to them and make informed decisions. I guess I'm asking way too much of Springfield.

I would like to extend and apology to you. It was not my intention to cause you any distress. You see, I try to purchase the expired goods so they don't get thrown away by the store. A lot of people don't know this but they are almost always still good to eat. I understand how that could be discomforting to you but it is important we all do our part to take care of the world we live in.

Magnolia_Me t1_j89h0iu wrote

Apology accepted, but assure I'm not under distress and greatly appreciate your efforts on salvaging food. I exhibit the same behaviors when shopping. This just happens to be where I've spent my Sunday morning and the most time on Reddit in years.

All the best to you and thank you for your efforts. Every little bit does help.

You have entirely missed the point of this post. It’s meant to be satire. It’s supposed to be funny. Then you go out of your way to argue about a point that has nothing to do with OP’s post.

You need some help in reading comprehension. I’m not trying to be rude but do you have a learning disability?

Some people who have commented on this thread are dumber than dogshit. This is the Internet, people will use sarcasm to make jokes. This is a joke.

The fact that has to be explained to you means you need to pull the stick out of your ass. Laugh at yourself sometimes. Damn.

If you like french onion dip, you should try the Kalona supernaturals one at Natural Grocers. Only place in town that sells it and it is INCREDIBLE. No joke, there are at least 3-5 open containers in the employee fridge at all time. Kinda random but I’ve been telling everybody about it LOL.
