Just to help you keep your sense of direction while in Bako Mt Vernon runs north and south. Your description ( “just north of Mt Vernon street”). makes me very you might be thinking it runs East and west. Hope this helps.

It doesn't. Mt. Vernon street in Springfield MO runs east to west.
