As a niners fan I had no idea cowboys were our rivals? I always assumed it was the raiders but I guess it just isn’t the same anymore when we’re not forced to share the bay

Cowboys fan here, I guess we can’t have playdates no more.

Here I was busy hating the eagles, giants and whatever team Brady is in. Now I gotta add another team.

Those were your regular season rivals. In the past during the playoffs it was always red/gold vs blue/white. Lot of back and forth back in the days of young and aikman

Cowboys make more sense than the Raiders since they are in the same conference. Raiders and 49ers have never really played any meaningful games.

Hatred between Raiders and 49ers fans when they were in Oakland was pretty ferocious from what I’ve seen. There weren’t many consequential/meaningful games though, yeah.

Mostly gangbangers who viewed it as a territorial thing, rather than about football. Most didn’t even care about the game, just went to games to throw punches

Yeah, why would two teams that were.only separated by a bridge have a rivalry, that makes no sense.

Go look up TO putting the ball on the star 20 years ago. Its a rivalry. Just the stakes haven't been as high minus these last 2 years

Raiders are an AFC squad that plays the 49ers once every 4 years or so. It's always been more of a turf war between bay area residents than the teams themselves. 49ers and Cowboys historically have had games with huge ramifications usually resulting in championships. Guessing you're a younger fan.
