He's been competing on a high level. It'd be easier to walk away if he wasn't still on the top. His performance has gone down slightly the last two years (although he is still a contender) and has been riding out his contract.

Sticking with the vanishing redneck demographic instead of expanding the fan base with a wider variety of fans. See, like many industries, they were soundly and directly warned of this specific outcome. Another IP destroyed by poor caretakers.
