I'm not surprised. Hazing seems to be frequent in sports clubs and programs at college levels.

It is a awful practice and tradition that needs to go.

Having been through football hazing, I can say it brought me no stronger bond or closer comraderie with my team, and left me with nothing but resentment and disgust toward the seniors that organised it.

I think it's American sporting clubs, haven't seen it much in my locality and played, coached a number of sports.

Anglo sports clubs do it too. Some particularly vile incidents with the Rugby clubs.

Played and coached rugby for years including seniors. I can't recall ever hearing about that
