Or just have them sit at home and not live life. These types of articles push a scary agenda in order to try and convince parents to be even more helicopter than before and have the family stay inside and watch the news clutching their pearls.

Stay away from football, boxing and hockey . Thats all

Sounds like you didn’t read the article because that’s not what it’s saying at all.

Whatever. News stations have turned America’s parents into a bunch of terrified over concerned worrywarts. Kids rarely play outside anymore.

It literally says kids should still play sports because the benefits outweigh the risks. Just get them screened for cardiac issues and make sure if they’re injured you give them enough time to recover.

Only after scaring the shit out of parents in an attempt at overblowing the safety risks of sport. I’ve been coaching for years and we get a concussion every now and then but this article is written from a perspective of fear.

With the increasing evidence that CTE exists in soccer players, you could argue that you should stay away from that too.
You can heal from broken bones, ligaments and tendons but brain damage is pretty much irreversible.

Fair enough, soccer added!

Headers have already been banned for children. Not even close to comparable to football or boxing anyway.

Which children? The ones locked inside or the ones playing soccer?

According to the article:
> Football was the most dangerous team sport for children in 2021.
> Other than on the playground, children 5 to 14 years old suffered from a higher rate of injuries playing football than any other sport, according to data from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.
