Lol no they wouldn’t have. 12-1 vs 11-1 and TCUs close overtime loss was post season against a team they already beat in the regular season. Ohio State got curbstomped by their underdog arch-rivals in their own stadium, in what was there worse home loss to Michigan in nearly fifty years.

Think you’re being a bit disingenuous here. Whilst I agree that OSU got dog walked at home, it was against the second best team in the country and I feel like this is being heavily understated in your comment. A loss against Michigan is definitely better than a loss against Kansas State and the committee knows this.
I’m confident that the committee put OSU 4th to avoid an inconference match-up in the semis. Had Michigan been #1, OSU would’ve been #3 without question.
The committee did the same thing last year when #1 ranked Georgia lost by 17 to the 4th seed Alabama in Georgia. Bama moved up to #1 and somehow Georgia still managed to outrank an undefeated Cincinnati.

They aren’t holding a 13th data point loss against TCU when Ohio State wouldn’t have even earned the right to get the 13th data point. If USC won, Ohio State wouldn’t have gotten in.
