Well that only took 100x longer than it should have.

I disagree. Just look at this season. In my opinion, only two of the current playoff teams are really legitimate. UGA and UM. If half the teams that get into the 4 team playoffs don’t really deserve to be there, then I can’t even begin to imagine how much it will suck if there are 2 real teams and 10 teams are just there to lose to the bigger teams. This system almost guarantees more than one PAC 12 team in the playoff and that is simply asinine since I can’t think of a single PAC 12 school that would win more than 6 games in the SEC or BIG 10. It could also lead to another Cincinnati situation, and to be honest, I don’t think non power 5 schools should be able to make the playoff. Also, extending the season could be detrimental to player health as the regular season is already 12 games, and adding the potential for 6 more could lead to more injuries to players looking toward the NFL draft. This might mean that some players skip out on playoff games in favor of staying healthy for the draft.

6 extra games. How the hell do you get that? 12 teams. If a team ranked outside the top 4 wins it all that’s 4 extra games. For 1 team.

As for only 2 teams being deserving. That’s crazy. Yes OSU laid an egg against UM. So they don’t deserve a spot? TCU and USC haven’t played any games to really see how they’d stack up. AL lost 2 close games. There are a number of teams that would and could deserve a shot.

The system now with 4 is better than the old system with 2 and the new system with 12 will be better than the current one with 4.

Should be conference champions making automatic seeds. The 12th spot is top ranked team remaining. It is Hella boring watching Alabama v Ohio state year after year. I want to see the upsets of Duke beating an SEC team, make it more like March Madness

That’s uhm…how it is? Six spots go to the six highest ranked conference champs, last six go to the top six highest otherwise ranked schools.

All 11 major conferences should have a spot if it is actually going to be an expended playoffs.

No one wants to see every Group of 6 champion get their ass kicked by a Power 5 school.

Pac12 is already kinda iffy now that UCLA and USC are moving.

The smaller conferences are represented by hopefully having a high enough ranking to show you can actually compete outside of your own conference.

Generally we see undefeated teams from the smalls rank somewhere by the end of the year - but usually they have at least two non-conference losses…

Are you accounting for the conference bias in the polls? And thank you for explaining how the current system works. I had no idea until you were able to articulate it. But you're right, my opinion is stupid

I'm sorry you think Bama v Ohio State is boring.

I too hate seeing the best version of this game.

Why even watch if it's the same shit every year?

Yeah, Bama playing Clemson again for the title this season will be....what now?

Perennial underachievers Michigan and USC are likely in? What madness is this?

/I think the expansion is great. Don't be shocked when the same names keep reappearing tho.

Well, it fixes so many questions of maybe teams, SEC teams that are maybe great. This should be fun. The days of one loss and the season is over is done for many teams, and that is great. If this existed this season, think about the interesting matchups we would see?

The year is 2040 80 teams have been added to the CFP. There is no regular season. Only playoffs.

It just shows you what a money grab college football really is. The four team playoff was introduced to have an uncontested national champion which the bcs couldn't do. For years every conference wouldn't do it do to player safety and the fact that these kids were supposed to be getting an education.

COVID hits. No football or March madness and colleges started hemorrhaging money. Now we have a 12 team playoff and super conferences are on the way because of media rights. I've basically lost all respect for higher education.

Of course the NCAA woukd make the stupid decision to skip over an increase to 8 teams which would make the most sense. The conference winner from the power 5 and 3 at large bids.
