Using the wall allows you to exceed the natural grip of your tires, so you're able to carry higher speeds into the corner than without. Most tracks the speed into the corner is high enough that even light contact with the wall is enough to cause damage or cut down a tire. Martinsville is short enough that a wall ride is a viable strategy for a two corner hail mary attempt. His car was destroyed on the right side and if it werent the last lap he'd be done for. All other tracks, the corner speeds and the length of the wall are too high and long for this to be viable. You'd lose too much speed and damage the car too much
