Just go with the religious angle, at least I understand that. The last thing I have sympathy for is Russian born hockey players.

That is different than simply just being born in Russia. Look at what you wrote and see how asinine it is. You should have expressed your displeasure for Russian sympathizers or those that still hold allegiance to the country; Not simply Russian Born Hockey players.
