All of the rest of the countries should threaten to walk, and actually follow through if they let them participate.

You either get an olympics with every country but Russia and Belarus or you get one with only Russia and Belarus.

What are the negatives of having those athletes compete without a flag or national recognition? I truly don't see how this option could ruin the Olympics.

It's the same thing in tennis where some of the best players in ATP or WTA are from Russia/Belarus but I'd rather see them compete with no country beside their name than not compete at all.

Some of us do. But I do think there is s distinction between invading specifically for the purpose of permanently taking over compared to the premise of only temporarily "sabing." in fact we did get put of Iraq and Afghanistan, granted with very different countries.

Sorry for late reply, but I guess the reason why the Ukraine war hits closer to these possible restrictions is the amount of awareness and how close it is to the European Union.

That's why more action against Russia is being called. Nevermind the fact that a lot of footage has leaked indiscriminately from Ukraine. (Not to undermind the stuff that has leaked from middle eastern wars) It's closer to majority of internet and western users
