There are about a dozen more launch opportunities in the next 2 years. Seems like building small and risky landers like this would be worth doing twice.

I hope they can build another one and get a rideshare opportunity. There are a few Japanese missions, too.

12.6 kilograms of lander, that's amazing, might as well build a half-dozen while they're at it!

When I first heard of the payloads which were flying aboard the CLPS landers I almost couldn't believe it. Peregrine alone is sending 6 rovers to the surface of the moon alongside several other experimental spacecrafts 🤯

That's a bummer, but most countries fail on their first try so they shouldn't be discouraged. Hopefully they can figure out what went wrong and find success next time.

Shoot for the moon, if you miss you'll land amongst the stars.

So disappointing.
I would have expected a country so knowledgeable about memes to have used standard measurements in their space program.
Instead, they used metric, and this happens.
Such a missed opportunity. Hopefully the closer Cooperation with the United States mentioned in the end of the article, addresses this issue in the future.

I think this was one of the cubesats that wasn’t able to be recharged before the launch. Sucks for Japan.
