It’s kinda weird to think that, even though it’s “only” 6500 light years away, theoretically a giant alien space hoover could have come along and sucked everything up, and we’d have no way of knowing. It’s along the same vein of the sun could actually have exploded right this very second, but we wouldn’t know about it because the light hasn’t gotten here yet. That's true but 6500 years is not a long time at all in these matters.
6500 years ago people were already using agriculture and shit. Sun has barely burped in that time.
It takes hundreds of millions of years just for earth to go around our galaxy one time. And earth has done it plenty of times while life goes on. Pretty crazy shit.

There's a cloud that's theorized to be a shockwave from a supernova heading towards the Pillars. If correct, it was destroyed 6000 years ago.
