The first step of science is admitting we don't know something.
The second step is committing themselves to finding the answer.
Science is not knowing answers.
Science is processes for finding answers.
I like K's quote from MIB 1 when he's talking to agent J about the big and small picture. "Fifteen hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow. "

I wouldn’t say “science disproves itself” because at its very core, science is a method of testing ideas. The method is sound and fruitful. It teaches us new things every time we use it correctly. What it disproves are human misconceptions.
