AI generated photography stands to disrupt the art industry but what about the legal system? If its possible to create hyper-realistic photos and videos of anyone doing anything, how will we know what evidence is real anymore? Evidence could easily be forged to falsely implicate people and at a certian point all images/videos will be called into question as to their legitimacy. How do we even begin to tackle this issue?

This is already true with photoshop. That's why source and chain of custody is important.
