This research is going to come to nothing as Cancer has yet to be proven to even exist!

After the nonsense spewed by antivaxxers during COVID, satire is dead.

You think there aren’t people that are this stupid?
When people ACTUALLY think this shit, you can’t expect it to be an obvious joke

Great, but what does this have to do with the artificial intelligence singularity? This is more of a r/tech or r/futurology topic. It’s like showing jwst photo’s on r/biology. People want to see ai development/entertainment instead of healthcare development on this sub. This would only be a good post when ai had played a big role in this.

This has nothing to do with the singularity like not even remotely

Have heard Aubrey de Grey mention this yesterday in a podcast I believe. He said he's most excited about this for cancer.

Timestamped. He's talking about some new drug possibly effectively poisoning 90% of types of cancer cells...

FWIK he's quite openly admitted to not following a particularly healthy diet, because he got genetically lucky.
Imo he might be underestimating the effects of diet. Look at how different David Sinclair and him look ( apparent age wise ). Only 6 years difference. And look at how much less different they looked 10 years ago. Sinclair is of course endorsing the dietary role much more.
Then again, apparent age isn't everything...

Wow. You just knew that article was out there? Anyhow, though I see your point, it still seems like another chunk of proof that supports funding in finding a way to manipulate the ECF viscosity.

The pharma industry is too comfortable with how things are at the moment. It needs to be put on the same amount of pressure as during the Covid crises for anything meaningful to happen.

Heck I think we should be way more aggressive with cancer than the pandemic. Cancer vs the pandemic almost have opposite death rates, but we have to wait 12 years for a new cancer treatment.. vs 1.

The researchers themselves are quoted cautioning their readers that their research here will take 10-15 years to develop into a therapy. Just because this doesn’t happen on the timescales of the smartphone industry doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
