>Brands in China are looking for alternative spokespeople after many celebrities recently ran into negative press about tax evasion or personal scandals, said Sirius Wang, chief product officer and head of marketplace Greater China at Kantar.

>At least 36% of consumers had watched a virtual influencer or digital celebrity perform in the last year, according to a survey published by Kantar this fall. Twenty-one percent had watched a virtual person host an event or broadcast the news, the report said.

Kinda hard to get my head around the fact that it's so main stream there a 1/3rd of people are already exposed to it.

I'm aware that V-tubers over here are a thing but I always saw it as a far more niche.

How long till a main stream US or UK news program is presented by a virtual presenter?

Well I think most young people wouldn’t mind, like millennials and younger.

I’m sure boomers would come around quickly, as long as it’s saying what they want to hear.

It depends on if it’s realistic avatars or anime like avatars too. I don’t see many people accepting anime like avatars but definitely human realistic avatars.

Celebs, who needs them. Their message is important but their ego is not. Just makes everyone else feel like inferior failures

I do work with digital humans, and it's a cool field. Lots of different technologies come into play.

It's fun, but still early for applications. I helped create a few in this documentary: https://www.vpro.nl/programmas/tegenlicht/kijk/afleveringen/2021-2022/de-digi-mens.html

Our partner provides the API that gets us our Digital Human through webRTC video streaming to implement at clients. We connect it to a conversational AI platform and create the dialogue and adjust anything we'd like. It works similarly to how Google Stadia worked.

As LLM's get better, so is the potential of Digital Humans
