Every IT specialist I know including myself is trying to look into switching careers. The end of the IT sector's writing is on the wall. This is like being a specialist working in a car factory in 1970s Detroit.
I feel bad for the couple of IT workers that seem to be in denial because they are going to be the ones hit the hardest as they have no Plan B set up.

I really thought that the it guys jobs will be secured, cant imagine that everyone could automate programming software

oh come on if you are indeed an IT specialist you will know that there's so much of the job outside of simply "writing and fixing code".
I'm in IT and I know I will have to keep up and evolve but your comment is ridiculously fatalistic

What are the careers you’re looking into? Off the top of my head, things like electrician, plumber, and hvac technicians will be hard to replace right?
