From psychological problems that being in this position in this day and age brings (peer pressure, prejudice, thinking you are worthless), to actual biases in job hunting (you been without work for a long time so your resume looks worse and worse for recruiters every passing day without experience).

And then careful with generalizations when you don't actually survey people on welfare before claiming what they are up to or not. You don't know that.
