Here's one: There may be other intelligences in the universe. If a superintelligence here on Earth decides to exterminate humanity then a more powerful extraterrestrial intelligence may see its willingness to kill as a potential threat and then decide to kill it.

Counterpoint. The alien super intelligence may decide to destroy it anyways so our ASI better hurry and gather resources and knowledge so it can defend itself.
