Suppose narrow AI programs launch a massive attack on white collar positions, the standard solution, untill kow, is to learn somethin else.
Let's say you go back to school and get a bachelor or PhD in a related field, takes 3 years. Add 1 year of job experience before one can be considered a professional worthy of a medium to high sallary.
If it takes 4 years to perform at a complete new white collar job, won't AI develop faster before laid off workers can even climb back to a level of well paid professional employment?
I mean in 3-4 years does take gigantic leaps already. And there is student loans and crushing standards of living to be considered for those who are desperate to go back to school.
