Yeah I guess I was thinking like how serial killers tend be a bit… creative.

There's nothing demonstrably "Maladaptive" about such behavior.

It's wretched, but plenty of adaptive behavior is wretched.

Came here to figure this out too. Is it being a man or woman on the inside or on the outside that contributes to this?

Selfish or cruel behavior may be of benefit to specific individuals, but harm the overall population. A population with too heavy a burden of members harming, undermining, and distrusting each other may have a tougher time surviving.

Yep. Standard negative feedback loop.

This is the second time I've seen "malevolent creativity" today and I've never heard that term before
