i quad skate and love skating a half pipe or mini ramp for learning new tricks. i’m looking for something from 3’-6’. or even a bowl that has a section that can be used like a half pipe. any recommendations? extra points if its at a cool park.

Maybe try the Southside Community Center skatepark.

looks like a fun flowy park! do you know how crunchy the concrete is? i am blessed with smooth concrete at the parks where i’m currently at and wondering if i’ll have to bring some hybrid wheels.

I haven't been in a LONG time, so I can't confirm if it's still there, but the skate park at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville used to have a decent half pipe.

Edit: Scratch that. Just saw a recent image and it looks like they took the half pipe out.

that one was kind of weird anyway, it didnt have nearly enough flat-bottom so it was kinda awkward to ride. by the time youre coming down from one side you were going straight back up the other with no time to think in the middle.

this ones a little out of the way, but Colonial Heights skatepark has a pretty new miniramp. they used to have an 8ft halfpipe but it got really beat up and worn out over the years so they recently took it down and replaced it with a keen ramps mini. its only about 3-4ft high but its pretty fresh

It's been so long that I had forgotten about how awkward it was. When I was in high school I went down the ramp in a wheelchair. It was ill-advised and all I can say in my defense is Jackass was wildly popular at the time.

does carter jones have a a half pipe? i’m only seeing quarters and ledges/boxes in google pictures

Might be just a quarter. Haven’t been in 2+ years, so I might have memory fog. If there’s still a park at Pole Green I think they had a half there too? Again, this was 2+ years ago so I could be wrong. Charlottesville, Southside, and Woodstock are all newer parks in VA that have bowls you might like too if you’re down to travel a bit!

Laurel skate park maybe? There's a half pipe in the imagery on Google maps
