Yeah, that place plays opera to try and get people (homeless) to stop loitering.

I read that gas station and the surrounding area had like 1000 911 calls in a year or some unbelievably large number.

If you’ve spent more than 15 minutes in this Wawa it is proven to give you more antibodies than any Covid booster.

I was there earlier today only because I was so low on gas I was afraid I’d run out if I didn’t stop. Homeless folks at both entrances/exits. Chaotic parking around the gas pumps. I’m always happy to leave there.

FearingEmu1 t1_j6errth wrote

I'd say they all are. Westchester Wawa is next to my company's office and is full of guys in yellow jackets and work boots before 8am. Sometimes power linemen show up in their giant bucket trucks and block several gas pumps for 15 mins.

5

Dead_Hours t1_j6fwe6x wrote

Is Wawa only for office workers now?

1

FearingEmu1 t1_j6fzj06 wrote

You sound insulted. Wasn't insulting the fact that contractor dudes show up to Wawa. Funny enough, the line worker bucket truck fleets that clog up pumps at Wawa some mornings (not like they pump and immediately move) often block landscapers and other vehicles that require diesel to do their jobs, since the Westchester Wawa only has a few pumps that are diesel.

Wawa used to be a place of magic and wonder. In the past 10 years +/- it like everyone has caught on now and drained all the magic and joy out of it. I don't go to them anymore because all they do is make me sad.

I was there today and noted how unusually dead it was. Around 11am. I normally joke about how that Wawa resembles a busy Klingon trading post due to the usual high volume.

I used to live down Brook in Bellevue and can confirm that this Wawa makes the Boulevard one look like a gallery opening at The Met. I've been there when you had to get an employee to unlock the beer cave for you, been accosted in the parking lot for having no cash to give away, and have def waited over 20m for a sandwich before.

The Wawa on Brook Rd is about the same. For some reason it's the home of sketchy box trucks with NY plates in the morning. It's also full of homeless people standing by the entrance asking for money.

5

boseyboseybop t1_j6itfuq wrote

I’ve noticed that some of those sketchy box trucks from NY are buying their limits of cartons of “cheap” smokes.

3

Colt1911-45 t1_j6j1765 wrote

Could be. Most of them are lined up for the pumps. Idk why. There are plenty of truck stops 10 miles north that pump way faster than the slow ass Wawa pumps.

my post was colored by the fact that it was super busy (per usual) just the day prior and I was waiting behind a unattended car at a pump with the nozzle in the car and then the owner of the car came walking from the other side of the plaza with a bag full of chick fil a. motherfucker parked at a busy gas station and went to buy food with their car at the pump.

getting a huge kick out of the people who care about this subject enough to toss 6 downvotes my way though LOL

pcptornado11 t1_j6lmv8h wrote
