Wouldn't have helped in this case, but in US Virginia there is JP's Law. "JP’s Law allows individuals to VOLUNTARILY add an innocuous code to their Virginia issued driver’s licenses and/or identification card noting they have autism or an intellectual disability. ". The idea is supposed to be that the police would have a heads up and, hopefully, approach the individual with more understanding. At the very least, if something were to happen you *might* be able to claim that the code was there and that the cop should've noticed.
