Soo..... uh... What did everyone get for Christmas?

A child, lol. (Seriously)

We were out of town with my in-laws, wife woke me up at midnight saying her water broke. Spent Christmas Eve/Christmas Day in the hospital, and all of our actual gifts are hours away.

Now that I'm in my 30s I've decided to 'come out' as it were about my nerdy passions. I got a Rammstein sweater I've wanted since I was a teenager and a huge compilation of Inuyasha manga. Living the dream

I was watching Inuyasha earlier this year on Hulu. Reminded me of simpler times. My wife totally did not get the appeal. Currently watching chainsaw man, finale is today. Can't wait to get out of work to watch it.

I started a rewatch during 2020 shutdown that took me through all the show, movies, etc. My spouse doesn't get it but affectionately refers to it as my soaps.

I thought Chainsaw Man looked like about the dumbest thing ever at first but I'm hooked too!

I got a big ass robe and bought myself Baldurs Gate 1/2 EE. Game is...most unforgiving.

Never finished them myself. I wish you luck!

Yeah they're old school as hell lol I didn't realize it was straight up D&D. Thought it was just inspired by and similar to it. Nope. I've learned many a lesson by dying like shit lol.

Not to sound ungrateful, because I got many wonderful and thoughtful presents. But my mom mailed me a f’ing Barbie. With no gift receipt. I’m in my mid thirties. I can’t decide if I should be mad, cry, or laugh. How nice she sent my husband the impact driver he had on his wishlist.

My dad sent me a book about the Illuminati. It made an excellent white elephant gift the next day.

Movie is coming up summer 2023. I've never owned a Barbie in my life, but I think I might actually check out the movie. Bring it with you to the theater!

I’m not sure she knows about the movie, but I’ll definitely watch it! Barbies we’re a big part of my childhood.

I’ll probably try to sell it. We just bought a house here so are trying to save, and I was hoping for the replacement headphones that were on my list because mine are broken.

I got a gorgeous orchid, stupid nice bottles of tequila and red wine, truffle salt, and chocolate. My boys did well this year. And a friend surprised me with a bottle of Buffalo Trace. It was my best Christmas in years for many reasons, but none to do with gifts. (Although I love them all.)

I got a toaster oven/air fryer with a ferment and dehydration mode!

I'm also trying to get a puppy, but it's harder than it appears to coordinate travel to Nashville for puppy pickup. I don't know what poison I want, driving or flying.

You literally have no idea of my circumstances or my history with animals and adopting. I also did not ask for anyone's opinion. Stay in your own lane.

Triggered much? Jeez my guy, wouldn’t you agree in most situations it is a better option to adopt? You’re not special, stop being offended by strangers on the internet over a casual comment

Arcangelathanos t1_j1zm8vh wrote

No, I do not agree. You need to stop being so judgmental when people talk about where they are getting their pets.

The idea is nice, but when 99% of the dogs at the shelter are some sort of pit mix that are triggered by other dogs, cats, and kids, it really limits your options.
