I went to an anti-gun violence event featuring Rep. McEachin a few weeks before he passed. News broke minutes before that the Chief of Police resigned. I took notes because what he said shocked me as he discussed another sitting elected Democratic official:

>The mayor is so busy trying to ‘build businesses’ while letting crime run amok. The Chief of Police was stuck...able to do nothing without the mayor.
