You probably have a water leak. I just got one in my main water line. If you have a lead water service line the city will pay for it there is info on the city's website.

Yes, I did have a leak in the main. It was on the city side, but the water flow was still moving my meter. It took three years of calling, four visits by them, one visit by my insurance company, and then two more months after they finally decided it was their responsibility to fix it. Unfortunately not before my water bill spiked to $222 last month and $323 this month

Ya, that means it is on your side this time. If you have a house water shutoff close it and check if your meter is still spinning. If it is that means there is a leak in your main water line.

Sorry, I don't think I'm explaining myself clearly. The leak was just fixed on the 10th of December. It was on the city side, but the leak got progressively worse to the point it was gushing. That's what spiked the last two bills. Meter is not running anymore
