Am I missing something on their website? I’m moving into a rental house and am trying to start the service at the property under my name. I swear I don’t see anything on their site about establishing a new service. Is the only way to call the dpu number?

Went through this a month ago - just call, do not bother going to the office. If you go in person, you need a copy of your lease and two forms of identifications. If you call, you hopefully get the sweet angel I did who will try to set you up to get your water turned on the same day.

Thennn you can anxiously wait all day the day before the city closes for some Holiday only to have some guy call you at 10PM asking if you still need your water turned on, which, to his credit he did show up like 5 minutes later and turn my water on.

I set my water and trash up with Richmond about a year ago, you have to call.

Good luck. Been calling four straight days after getting a $323 water bill. Can't get anyone to answer

You probably have a water leak. I just got one in my main water line. If you have a lead water service line the city will pay for it there is info on the city's website.

Yes, I did have a leak in the main. It was on the city side, but the water flow was still moving my meter. It took three years of calling, four visits by them, one visit by my insurance company, and then two more months after they finally decided it was their responsibility to fix it. Unfortunately not before my water bill spiked to $222 last month and $323 this month

Ya, that means it is on your side this time. If you have a house water shutoff close it and check if your meter is still spinning. If it is that means there is a leak in your main water line.

Sorry, I don't think I'm explaining myself clearly. The leak was just fixed on the 10th of December. It was on the city side, but the leak got progressively worse to the point it was gushing. That's what spiked the last two bills. Meter is not running anymore

Ah, I had a leak on the city side before but it didn't spin the meter
