Brunch at the Jefferson, starving myself until then and doing nothing but digesting for the rest of the day.

Itโ€™s usually the best tips of the year and free food and if you hate your family, even better.

When I was a server I made next to nothing and was forced to spend hours away from my family. Hopefully it's more like you said at most of the restaurants that are open.

iโ€™ve worked most every holiday the last 20+ years, to me, itโ€™s just another day and people always seem to be nicer at least! :)

Always wanted to do that! Any tips for when to put in a reservation? I'd imagine you'd need to get a spot months prior.

It was not easy... Reservations opened on September 25th and I had to spend 20 minutes calling to just not get a busy signal and waited on hold for a half hour to get them. By the time I got to talk to a person she said pretty much all they had left were tables for two.

Sheesh! That does sound like a lot of effort. I appreciate your reply, I'll see if I can get a table for me and the Mrs next year :)

I think the other Sunday brunches in December take a bit longer to fill up, but are typically full within a day of opening. (They take reservations 3 months in advance.)

I'll report back if I survive the gorging without busting my abdominal wall.
