Just curious - what part of Chesterfield referendum would you have voted against? Schools, parks, libraries, or emergency services?

I would have voted against the part where we have tens of millions for additional police infrastructure but since that wasn't an option, I begrudgingly voted yes

They wrapped that bit up all pretty for you. That would be annoying to have to vote that way.

Even if it were separate, I bet people would have voted yes on that anyways particularly since I doubt they'd break out the plan and costs on the ballot (too transparent!). I actually voted no to the grouped version.

Like McFlare, the 'emergency' services part, specifically the millions on PD stations.

Yeah, I wish I could have seen a better explanation of why that was needed. Still, I for one am a fan of getting police out of the parking lot of Fest and 3 daycares.
I did see that in the eastern part of the county, they are still using some ancient fire stations that seem to really limit fire response time. All for those upgrades.

I absolutely cannot imagine how $10 million is being spent on the chester police station. complete hooey.
Also, the way Chesterfield builds high schools is an incredibly insane use of land and promotes some of the worst kinds of development.

I thought that they were building a new police station in Chester with a standardized layout. Three of the new police stations all cost same amount.
I'm just glad that there might be enough new schools to possibly keep more kids out of trailers for a while. Need proactive construction of schools where needed.

Weird.
The land use requirements of high schools for the county is bad. It drives up costs, makes them harder to maintain over time, getting kids in and out of the schools are infrastructure nightmares, and it’s somehow still hard to support all of the athletics on these large sites.
