Children of the night know how to blend with the shadows.

(And most cops are too lazy to get out of their cars.)

I'm going to need some more information to help. Not get caught by...? Scared of...? I hear Bryan Park is still a consideration if you're interested in "cruising", but there's also an app for that.

How old are you, out of curiosity?

In a city that I used to live in, we had late night coffee shops. It was so cool. I wish we had that here in RVA.

you gotta be careful depending. Living in a city gun violence is a sad reality

Having said that,

Scuffletown Park tiny park in the fan in an alleyway with a fish statue, thats pretty pooping. There's general a good crowd of 20-30 year olds.

Bryd Park is very safe. Generally gets quite late at night. Not a whole lot of people but very open area

I would avoid trails, or anywhere with lots of trees.

What time at night? I bet the T. Pott bridge or floodwall would be OK. If you're quiet you can probably sit in Scuffletown Park, but it's surrounded by buildings. Maybe a bench by a lake in Byrd Park?

I once biked across Belle Isle late at night and it's as people say: can't see shit.

There are ways to pass by undetected. I have my own method I use to take late night urbex excursions. Has always worked.

We had places like that for a long time. 3rd street cafe and 4th street diner were two of them that I spent a lot of time at late nights. I thought there were probably others that had sprung up since then. Guess not. Too bad.

Aside from the danger its also illegal to be there after dark, and for whatever reason there’s some kinda inverse relationship between how dangerous it is at night and police presence: where it’s ironically not very safe yet it’s loaded with cops.

not gangs. I said nothing about gangs.

More like people trying to rob you. I know people that have died because of gun violence in Richmond. While they it wasn't at a park, it was at night. Really it comes down to isolation. Robbers well look for dark secluded areas.

Some trails have trees that cover them entirely. Where someone can sneak up easily on you and rob you and there'd be no one else around for a good mile or 2. I should also mention rape can happen there too.

gun violence has gone up I don't think this will necessarily happen if you go out to the river , but its important to recognize that it can happen. If you're going out at night with a bigger group people you should be fine.

Again- this has nothing to do with gangs please be safe. Anywhere that's dark and secluded is probably not the best place to go to at night.
