Mongrel would be my first choice. There are some pop-up shops that appear around the holidays with local crafts; those could be good.
Depending on how long you want to wait, the Carytown Artisan Market will have some local goods -

I really like the goods available at Mimi's Apothecary. P.F. Candle Co's teakwood and tobacco is my go to, but they do also carry local brands.
Pretty On The Inside Candles. Richmond Makers' Market. Basic City Beer Co. Tomorrow, 12:00pm - 6:00pm.
I know you asked for Carytown, but if you're willing to come down to the forest hill farmer's market on a Sunday morning there are usually some very nice candle vendors.
My sister-in-law just moved to Richmond and has a candle business. I'm not a candle person, but I have three of them and they're all great. You can buy online or catch her at markets around the city.
Lineage or maybe Mongrel
It's Carytown, just walk down the street a see for yourself. It would actually take less time than waiting for Reddit to reply.
These are locally made and they also do a lot of charitable giving, highly recommend! https://sydneyhaleco.com/
you seem fun
I have one of her candles and I love it!
Awesome! I’ll let her know - she loves to hear positive reviews.
Mehmet sells really good smelling candles at Cool Colors. They aren't seasonal per se but we still are burning one from 4 years ago so they last a long time.
Because I am willing to just go and experience shit and don't need to poll strangers just to buy fucking candles?

Because you are shitting on an opportunity for people to shout out local businesses. And because this is a community forum and sometimes it’s nice just to ~talk~ with people in your community who like similar things.

Mongrel has a good selection! They’re very beautiful but pretty expensive.
