When people talk about cheap egg prices, or consider the cheapest options at grocery stores, I really wonder if they have any idea what conditions inside commercial production hen houses are like. I’ve been around them before. Just about single hen was infested with fleas all the time. Who knows what else. Routine broad spectrum antibiotics are used to keep disease pressure (and deaths) down; but that doesn’t eliminate problems altogether.
Pay a few more dollars for your eggs each week. It’s worth it.
