I'm brand new in town and hope to find a good mechanic nearby so I can walk home. My Honda Fit has started turning itself off while I drive which is... not good. I'm supposed to be driving to NC for Thanksgiving so should try to get it in to a shop today.

It's been a few years since I lived over that way, but I used Clover Hill Tire & Auto for my Honda at Hull St & Bailey Bridge. They were good guys.

Yes! I have had my fit serviced there. They are excellent, honest, and priced well. They specialize in Honda.
Agree with this suggestion. I’ve taken my vehicles there for years.
Do you get a check engine light? I drive a different brand but my old car was doing that and it was just a faulty cam shaft position sensor.

No check engine light but there a couple weird quirks, like my heater only turns on at full blast and one of my windows doesn't work. No idea if it's related.
Parents have been going to Wallace as long as I've been alive and any work I can't do is taken immediately to them, Wallace is awesome.

Edit: and I drive an Acura, so there shouldn't be any issue with your Honda.
