Trying to figure out a decent ($$) priced, romantic-ish place to go to dinner for my birthday. There’s too many decisions and I’m hoping you all can come to the rescue and recommend some solid options. Also, ideally a place I wouldn’t need a reservation. Thank you in advance!

I’ll def. Give this place a try. The reviews make it seem like it’s a great restaurant. Thanks for the recommendation!

All subjective, my dude. It’s a solid recommendation for what OP is asking for. Good food, still reasonably priced though definitely not bottom of the barrel, well decorated, good service. It’s all in the eyes of the beholder.

It’s good, I like it. It is just too noisy for a romantic dinner in my mind.

Little nickel

I always recommend Little Nickel when restaurant threads pop up, but depending on the evening it is my experience that the crowd can be extroverted to the extent of a lack of intimacy. It's a great spot though.

Additionally there is Sabai, Sens and Stella's that might be what you're looking for, or Dinamo to avoid alliteration.

Edit: you might also run into reservation obstacles at any of these depending on the timing of your visit, or not

Manchester's Table. They have wine tastings and then a ($$) three-course dinner. Really fun, too!

I love Lolita’s in Carytown for a fun vibe and delicious cocktails and Mexican food. We also just tried Gersi and really liked it for Italian

Grisette, that restaurant in the VMFA, bacchus, Adarra, Stella's would be my suggestions!

Those are all easily $$$, but I would also add The Stables to this. (All excellent, romantic dinners)

The final decision made was Dinamo & holy shit that was a delicious meal, And surprisingly not as steep as I thought. Delicious red pizza, tasty cocktails, unique ambiance, delicious scallops and pasta! Would recommend 10/10.

Cocodorillo, Pinky's, Mosaic Restaurant, or The Wooden Spoon would be my top choices

Maybe a bit pricey for you (Google has it at $$$) but Grandstaff and Stein has really good food and fantastic cocktails. It's also a really nice atmosphere for a date - fairly dark but not so dark you can't see, candlelight, retro speakeasy aesthetic. Very nice.
