I just inherited a bunch of really old sterling silver, mostly utensils and serving dishes. Does anyone know where I can get it appraised for insurance purposes?

Check with Gates Antiques. They can probably either give you an appraised value or recommend someone.

Definitely check antique dealers and all about appraisal. It's value is tired more to being antique than it's weight/metal value.

Silver isn't worth all that much. $18 an ounce so $288 a pound. It's worth more in the form of jewelry but I doubt anything to change up insurance.

Closer to $17/ozt right now since it is sterling.

Yeah silver ain’t worth much, I inherited a similar amount and have been considering just breaking them out for regular use. YOLO.

I'd call an antiques dealer and ask them.
