Party Liberation Foundation does warehouse parties sometimes. Look them up on FB or insta.

https://www.instagram.com/party_liberation_foundation/ are probably the most well known group to do warehouse events, they've been around for a while.

https://www.instagram.com/behavior804/ does a decent job promoting the indie EDM scene. Most warehouse/house show EDM events that I know of, get highlighted here.

https://www.instagram.com/ensopromo/ & https://www.instagram.com/basstrinityofficial/ pool their talents and often throw shows at Switch. Over the weekend they also had a byob party that might have been up your alley. If you want a wide mix of styles, they play the widest diversity of EDM.

Steez Promo has 3 shows in Richmond this much, which is pretty rare for them to do this much in Richmond. Nothing about Steez is warehouse/DIY/house party type of show.

https://www.instagram.com/anomalisradio/ has done free outdoor events. They'll deliver Jungle Room style tech house/deep house without the Jungle Room cover.

https://www.instagram.com/rhythmcitycollective/ is for the 140 deep dubstep people. Their bigger sows they'll bring in amazing subwoofers. They also have no cover shows at Switch on Wednesdays. They've done some BYOB river parties that if you are looking for warehouse/house show/DIY vibes, those deliver.

https://www.instagram.com/worldofwooksemporium/ also hosts 140 events with DIY/house show vibes.

Fallout also throws a couple of EDM parties a month. I might be missing some other people. If I think of more I'll edit this post.

https://www.instagram.com/offworldrecords/ has thrown a few events in Richmond this year. I'm highlighting them because they have something going on November 5th. Smells like a field party.

https://www.instagram.com/infrared804/ hosts techno warehouse events.

IIRC Steez has been around before Badass Raves. The group that runs Big Dub now has/had Badass alums that wanted to stay involved with those events after Chad left.

Badass grew up as an underground bass alternative to Steez. Steez could line up bigger acts and schedule tour stops at Peabody's, Soundcheck, Baltimore Soundstage, so either you play with Steez or you get locked out of some of the larger EDM playing venues.

They don't treat Richmond as a high priority market, and as much as I like who they bring, they end up sucking the life out of Richmond EDM throwing a few shows and then disappearing for months while the artists that Steez has all skip Richmond.

Liquid Stranger is going to be a big show. It's just there hasn't been a lot of dubstep at the National, Steez locks up many big dubstep artists that tour the Mid-Atlantic, and Steez would rather schedule artists for other venues outside of Richmond.

Thanks for the links!

I've never been to a rave/warehouse party before and have always been curious. I'm not a partier with anything more than pot and have lost a few friends to accidental overdoses when I was in my late teens/early 20s. But, now that pot is legal and edibles are perfect substitute for not being able to smoke in public, I'm considering checking one out. Mostly for the music and lights and glow sticks 😍

Maybe I'll finally get started on a homemade OLED/LED helmet that reacts to the music and pretend I'm Daft Punk.
