The room lit up with light briefly, and soon thereafter the thunder caused the dogs to become nervous.

Stay dry and safe!

My wife saw the flash walking outside as well, I stepped outside and heard 4 or 5 booms. I love listening to thunder...that didn't sound like thunder.

That was crazy. One big flash and then a massive rumble. I haven't heard anything since.

My husband called out "what was that?" I called out" was that thunder?" and it just kept going and going ... it finally stopped. It rained a little, we have heard 2 small rumbles and husband has seen one flash.I had just hopped off of weather dot com so I could plan my week and I saw the little green snot bubble just south of me and said Ah, so rain right now, I will hold off until tomorrow. Went upstairs to finish up nighttime routine with our son and the thunder just suddenly came out of no where.
Now we are just downstairs until bedtime, just in case we need to get to shelter.
Husband is chill, I on the other hand, living here since '94 I do not trust March or April with weather lol

Wild amount of lightning for such a small storm.

I love this thread so much. I was putting our toddler down and heard it the first time. Doing what I do for a living, rumbles are…. unsettling, lol. I looked outside and there was literally nothing happening, and I got confused. Then we got a free power washing

There was some talk about a deranged fugitive running through dorset woods which isn’t too far from me, so I initially thought maybe that had escalated in some capacity. It feels like the wrong everything for thunder!

Does thunder not happen here often? I’ve only been here 6 months and that’s the first thunder I’ve heard.

The big rumble caught me off guard! I even went outside to see what all the hubub was about.

I love thunderstorms. At least I'll have more luck wishing for one of those than I would a good snow anymore.

My poor husband when he moved here sometime early '00s experienced the hectic storms we had that year in like '04 where the summer was non stop gully washers and you had like 30 lightning strikes in the span of less than a half an hour.
It has been over two decades, he loves storms, he would rather not have to deal with that.
I just do not want to deal with another Derecho that was scary for me.
