Sorry, but it sounds like the issue is that you need a very specific type of constant validation. And you happen to be with someone who likes you for more than just your body. At first I thought his skinnier girl thing was a dick move by him. But reading the rest of this, I don’t think he said that in the way you relayed.

Talk to your BF about your needs. If he changes, it was just blind stupidity because 22 year old guys are dumb as fuck. If he doesn’t, time to move on. I think my wife’s the most beautiful woman in the world no matter weight, after having kids, no makeup, etc. your young. Don’t strive for anything less than that.
