I wouldn’t do it Xmas Eve, but right now is a fine time. No gifts have been exchanged.

I always feel like it shouldn’t be a surprise (just like being fired for performance at work shouldn’t be). By now, you’ve probably had lots of discussions about why you’re unhappy.

It’s a fine time.

Do it. The longer you take, the worse it is going to be. You are going to find new excuses and end up elongating a relationship you don't even want to be in.

I guess you'll gonna make it worse if you keep it longer. It's also unfair to your partner that you have thoughts about "breaking up" and he thinks the other way around. He deserve to know the truth about your feelings.

Better than February 14th right? Seriously though, the longer you string him along the worse it’ll be. Just do it.

Time of year doesn't matter. If it sucks it sucks anytime. It's cruel to stick around longer than you're interested.

There is always going to be a holiday, an excuse, a bad timing moment. When you want out, get out. Full stop. It's a break up. Not a death.

Sooner the better, you don’t want him to waste money and time on you over Christmas. Honestly, a long term partner once left me in January and I was bummed I had wasted another shitty Christmas with him & his family!

It’s never ‘a good time’ to break up with someone. I applaud you for trying to take their feelings into account but this person will be hurt regardless of when it happens.

You aren’t happy in this relationship anymore and the sooner you let them know the better. The wonderful thing about holidays is that you’ll be surrounded by family and friends that can help and support you both (separately) through this time.
