Well you are forcing fatherhood on him, but that’s the consequence of having sex. Especially unprotected sex.

You’ve made the decision to have a child with someone who does not want to be a father. This is unfair to your kid, but you have a couple options:

  • take him to court for child support and then deal with him not wanting to be involved in the child’s life.

  • completely cut him out and do this alone. You will be taking on the burden of raising a person who will have serious attachment issues. It’d be good for you to seek counseling or research what it means for someone to be raised without a father. Statistics for children like that aren’t great.

Your ex is being immature, but he has a right to not want to be a parent.

That doesn’t make any sense. What would cause him to think you’re infertile? Did you mention you thought you were?

So he was willing to try for a baby because he thought it’d never happen? I feel like we’re missing some info here.

He sounds incredibly dumb which is unfortunate.

Maybe he doesn’t want the baby because the relationship didn’t work out? Idk, it’s strange that he changed his mind.

Not a popular opinion, but this is part of the reason why people get married before they have children. There’s more security there and you know your partner has made a major commitment before. Not sure why you’d have a baby with someone after only a year…
