There are a bunch of shootings/stabbings that go unreported as well. Either way Providence is the least violent city I have ever lived in. Only time I saw some high levels of violence was during the 90's

Yet by your own admission a lot of crime gets unreported so the crime rate as published is artificially low

Yet by your own reading, how do you publish things that are unreported.

You can estimate for them

See: estimates of unreported sexual assault claims

Ok sure, are you the 1st person to interview?

I'm not an expert on sexual assault, and you aren't an expert on violent crime. In both cases, you would consult an expert for these topics and not just make sarcastic quips

Sure I'm not an expert on sexual assault, but I sure as hell know way more than you regarding violent crime in Providence. Seen it and lived in proximity of it for a very long time. And this is coming from the person who threw the 1st quip. Geez we ain't in Kansas anymore.

I used that as an example of crime which often goes unreported and is thus underreported + requires estimates to fill in the gap

All I'm saying is that there's been a shooting every weekend in 2023 and that's not great news, I hope that trend doesn't continue. Crime is clearly on the rise in PVD right now

It's 2023, and the year hasn't started out well in terms of violent crime in Providence.

Almost 200,000 people live in the city. Four notable acts of violence this weekend.

It's disappointing and disturbing that you (and several others on here) go out of your way to try to normalize the violent crime in Providence.

It’s not normalizing, if you expect any place, let alone a city, to be crime free then you’re searching for something that doesn’t exist.

I'm not expecting anywhere to be crime free.

When people get upset about a crime being posted, and they try to brush it under the rug, that's an attempt to normalize it.
