In all honesty I agree. Their beer list is pretty well curated I just prefer simple lagers. It was just a funny moment.

Also if I'm spending +$8 on a bev, it's going to be wine or a cocktail.

8 dollars will get you two buck chuck wine or a high class beer. I always found it weird the people that think wine in all forms is better than beer.

I think it’s nice to offer a cheaper option for people, but it deserves at least a sarcastic groan when someone is considering the full list and then opts for a ‘Gansett

They should put it in a separate section of the menu, then. Have a main drink section titled "Craft Beer Selections", and then another section titled "Fine, Here's Some Swill for the Unwashed Masses" with Narragansett underneath
