Looking for a pool where I could lap swim? Also attempting to train for a triathlon if there are any groups that also do that, I would love to know!

Brown u. pool has community member ships and the pool is really nice. The schedule might get harder to work around once classes start again (swimming and diving have certain hours blocked off) but there’s definite lap times.
YMCA on Hope, JCC on elmgrove
la fitness has classes that use the pool. You have to check the schedule.
Barrington beach has a group that preps for triathlons as well as GeorgiaVille pond. There is a swim group on face book you can join (https://www.facebook.com/groups/GVPNadadores)
As far as I know, post pandemic, the one in Prov at the moment has no classes.
This is great and super helpful, thank you!
Love it, thank you!
Makes sense, thank you!
Awesome, thank you!
The North Providence Pool and Fitness Center is affordable for non-residents. It's the pool that the high school swim team uses to train. I was looking for a place to exercise a little while back and this was the cheapest and still clean and well maintained as far as I could tell.
If you are looking for groups to train open water swimming facebook has 2 really good groups that I know of. Mackerel cove swimming and Georgiaville pond tri training group. Both have great people. If you are looking for Tri Training plans I highly recommend the TriDot app.
I like to swim at the Cranston YMCA or McDermott pool in Warwick. You can get discount YMCA memberships through AAA or your health insurance. AAA and a lot of health insurances participate in a program called Active and Fit.
Running groups look at ‘gansett run club on Facebook. They meet at the brewery once a week to run.
Cycling just look up bike shops most do group rides.
You're welcome. Good luck. My nephew did several triathlons. Awesome sport.
I love the YMCA, but between their scheduled class times, kid's swim clubs, the occasional lightning storm, and their pool chemical issues, they're never open.
I just started swimming at McDermott in Warwick. It’s pretty cheap but the hours aren’t great for adult swim (except the weekend).
Healthtrax, east providence and Warwick
AFAIK Providence is much better for lap dances. Lap swimming not so much.

LA fitness, prov and Pawtucket line on North Main st. The best part you can swim basically all the time. Whereas with others such as the YMCA, you only have specific slots of time to swim. I think it opens at 5am and during week closes at 10pm. It's never really crowded. At most, I may wait 20 minutes to grab a lane, which is rare.
Brown, CCRI in Lincoln and RIC have pools, Brown has the best, but time slots are limited, and Brown is really pricey.
Also, in the late spring people start preparing for the bay swim. You may ask around on it, but there was a group that swam all the time in Jamestown to get ready at potters cove. May be other groups too.
