looking for any places that have large selections of different whiskeys to try. my father loves whiskey and as a christmas gift i was hoping to find a good place i could take him to where he can sample some different whiskeys. i’m located in douglas MA but spend a lot of time in providence-open to any recommendations in or around RI and MA.

Nikki's Liquors in Providence used to host tastings that were educational and fun - I haven’t heard of any in a while. I am looking for one to put on my Christmas list myself - I want to try a ton of them.

Check out the East End on Wickenden! The place has probably a couple hundred whiskeys available to taste and is one of my favorite restaurants in Providence. Bar/waitstaff are generally pretty knowledgeable about the selection too, so could potentially point you in the right direction or give food pairings. Only thing is I don't know if they offer flights or tasting sizes -- I know they do three different sizes of pour but the smallest is still reasonably sized.

Check out White Dog Distillery in Pawtucket! It’s also next to Crooked Current Brewery.

I know it's far but sons of liberty in South Kingstown does a stellar tasting!

Yep - East End and Bottles Fine Wine are owned by the same guy and both have a tremendous selection of whiskey/whisky. A couple other places are the Avery over on the west end, and the Eddy (on Eddy St) downtown

You mean Gregg's, Harry's, and whatever they're calling The Axe Mill Tavern these days don't cut it for Whiskey? /s

East End on Wickenden st. is where you want to take your dad.

I don’t think the tasting room is opened at Sons Of Liberty. Double check before you make the drive. You can still purchase alcohol to take home, but no tasting on the premises at this time.

Since so many people have already suggested my usual go to (East End), Durk’s BBQ downtown has a couple of hundred whiskeys on me u, and I’ve never had them suggest a bad sip.

If you venture to the East Bay, Revival in Warren has a pretty solid bourbon list, including some of the harder to find stuff from Buffalo Trace, etc. The food is pretty good as well.

came here to say East End. they have flights and it's also a very nice atmosphere in there. just make sure you check the hours, they're a bit limited.
