Hello, one of my family's cats is not doing well and my wife and I know it is time to end his suffering. We live in Coventry and are looking for suggestions for end of life care. Our cat has always been very anxious about car rides so we do not want his last moments being full of fear so we're looking for someplace local to minimize the drive time.

We do have some locations in mind, but we wanted to reach out to see if there are any places that are better than others or places we should avoid.

Thank you.

There are traveling veterinarian clinics which will provide in home services. Somewhat pricy, but this would mean no traveling.

Yes we did this and it was well worth it since there was no limit to the number of people who could be in the room to say goodbye.

We live in Providence and used https://petlossathome.com when it was our cat’s time. The vet who came was wonderful and made the whole process so simple.

Back in February, I had to put my cat down. Like yours, he hated the car, so my vet suggested https://www.atyourdoorvetservices.com/ . Dr Washburn showed up at my home, and was so kind and gentle during the entire process. It's a bit pricy, but my cat was so in peace in his final hours. I'm sending you prayers for a peaceful passing for your beloved cat.

I second at your door vet services! I miss my cat so much, but I am to this day so proud he was able to leave this world the way he did. It was so peaceful.

Second, we used this service as well this past summer, a big benefit is that everyone that wants to be there can be, no limits on the amount of people in the room.

I think the OP doesn’t want to take cat on a car - do they do euthanasia house calls?

North Paws in Greenville was amazing when my Lucky was at the end of his life. https://www.northpaws.com/

Probably a 20 - 25 min drive depending on where you are in Coventry though.

West Greenwich Animal Hospital is very knowledgeable and compassionate to both the people and the pets. Highly recommend. I'm sorry for your loss and your cat's pain.
