Found in 1997 in a house I lived in on Keene St. on College Hill near Brown. Artist says George Gagnon ‘29 (which could be when he created it or graduated from Brown). Kept it safe for 25 years. One lead I found. There was a Joachim (who went by George) Gagnon (1874-1945) who lived in providence at that time.

I would believe this is a 21yr olds painting (that’s how old they would have been in ‘29 according to the census data)
Edit: it seems like your data is a little different than what’s presented on this site.

Not if he was born in 1874 - he would have been 55 years old.
