Hi everyone , We just moved to Cranston from worcester and I’m doing some renovations at home.

There was a public dump in worcester that charged by the weight. I was told there is only one dump like this in the providence area.

Is this true? Any you guys suggest or can mention?

Thanks !!

You can go to the main landfill in Johnston. It's called the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation.

If what you're tossing is general demolition debris, there's a special drop house for C&D (construction & demolition). I've brought pickup truck loads there before.

Vinagro up the road also has a C&D yard but I'm not sure if they bill small customers. I've only ever seen from the junk haulers on to huge walking floor trailers there. My company has an account with them, so everything was done by waybills when I've dropped there.

I'd try the Johnston landfill and I think JR Vinagro does trash down that way too. Haven't worked down there in several years though.

As others have mentioned here, it sounds like the one you were told about is the RIRRC landfill in Johnston.

But check out other neighboring towns with municipal transfer stations, which may (or may not) be easier or cheaper for you. In NK (just because it's what I know, not that it will be your best option), you can drop off construction debris for $200/ton with a $10 minimum. I don't think there is a residency requirement for bulk drop off, or if there is it definitely isn't enforced.
